Yet another spectacular scene on the banks of Lake Champlain. It was surreal, peaceful... a true feeling of being embraced by mother Nature. Painting this landscape was again a wonderful experience. Incorporating the tranquility in my painting was a challenge. Enjoyed painting every detail of this painting..the far off disappearing mountains....the still water ripples...and of course the reflection.
I had the bliss of experiencing this beautiful scene painted by mother Nature on the banks of Lake Champlain., a beautiful lake that separates New York and Vermont. There is a ferry that runs to take you on the other side of the lake (Vermont). I quickly reached out to my camera to capture a still of this scene. As always its was an enjoyable journey painting it. The reflection, the distant still ripples...every bit of the scene was very intricate and had a lot of detailing to be rendered. As always, an amazing journey.
It was a wonderful journey painting this gorgeous waterfall. I had been to Niagara Falls some time during the last month. Had clicked a few pictures as a remembrance of the vacation; never thought I would be painting them. Painting this one was definitely not an easy task. I have tried to incorporate as much detail as possible, the rocks, the water and of course the waterfall. Rendering the whites and the grays in the waterfall was a very difficult task as most of it looked "white" in the photograph. But I had to add it a few cool grays to give it some dimension. All in all I throughly enjoyed painting this waterfall.
